Our team is pleased to offer you the opportunity to have Qurbani performed on your behalf in the holy city of Makkah.
After the sacrifice, the meat will be distributed to the poor and needy among the people of Makkah.
We facilitate three types of Qurbani:
1. Qurbani for Hajj pilgrims during the Days of Hajj
We perform the obligatory Qurbani (also known as Hady or Dam al-Shukr) within the Haram, ensuring it is completed with tarteeb (in the correct order of rituals as per the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ) on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah after the pilgrim completes Rami al-Jamarat. For those who follow the Hanafi school, this is especially important because failure to follow the correct sequence of rituals, for example, carrying out the Qurbani before Rami al-Jamat or after cutting the hair would result in a penalty (damm).
2. Qurbani non-Hajj pilgrims during the Days of Hajj
We provide Qurbani services for non-Hajj pilgrims, allowing individuals to fulfill their obligation during Eid al-Adha. The Qurbani for non-Hajj pilgrims can be performed anywhere in the world and is not confined to the Haram of Makkah. However, our Qurbanis will be carried out in Makkah.
3. Nafl Qurbani (Sadaqah)
For those who wish to perform this voluntary act of worship and charity at any time of the year. This can be done to seek Allah’s pleasure, express gratitude for blessings, for a particular intention, or as an ongoing charity on behalf of oneself or deceased loved ones.
What is Qurbani?
Qurbani (Arabic: قربانى), refers to the ritual sacrifice of an animal, usually a sheep, goat, cow, or camel. In the context of Hajj, this takes place on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, which marks the day of Eid al-Adha.
There are several types of Qurbani:
Qurbani for Hajj pilgrims (Hajj Qurbani)
- This Qurbani, also known as Hady, is mandatory for pilgrims performing Hajj al-Tamattu or Hajj al-Qiran as a part of their pilgrimage rituals.
- It signifies gratitude to Allah for the privilege of performing Hajj.
- The sacrifice is carried out within the boundaries of the Haram during the 10th of Dhul Hijjah.
- The meat from the sacrifice is distributed to the poor in the Haram area.
Qurbani for non-Hajj pilgrims
- This type of Qurbani is obligatory for Muslims who do not perform Hajj but meet specific criteria (e.g., each sane Muslim adult possessing wealth above the Nisab threshold).
- It is performed during the three days of Eid al-Adha (10th, 11th, and 12th of Dhul Hijjah) as an act of worship and submission to Allah.
- The sacrificed animal’s meat can be distributed among the poor, family, and oneself.
- Unlike the Qurbani for Hajj pilgrims (Hady), which must be carried out within the Haram boundaries, the Qurbani for non-Hajj pilgrims does not have any geographical restriction.
Nafl Qurbani (voluntary sacrifice)
- This is a non-obligatory sacrifice performed by Muslims at any time of the year as a supererogatory act of worship.
- It is often done to seek Allah’s pleasure, express gratitude for blessings, for a particular intention, or as an ongoing charity on behalf of oneself or deceased loved ones.
- For instance, a Muslim may make a personal vow to offer a Qurbani if a specific prayer or dua is answered, such as recovering from an illness or succeeding in a significant endeavour.
- The meat from this sacrifice will be distributed to the needy in the Haram.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Qurbani in Makkah
Who needs to perform Qurbani?
The obligation of Qurbani (for Hajj pilgrims and non-Hajj pilgrims) rests upon every sane, mature Muslim who possesses the necessary wealth that surpasses the Nisab threshold, the minimum amount upon which Zakat becomes obligatory.

- Hajj Qurbani (Hady): Specifically for Hajj pilgrims performing Hajj al-Tamattu or Hajj al-Qiran.
- Obligatory Eid Qurbani: For eligible non-Hajj pilgrims.
- Nafl Qurbani: Voluntary sacrifices made as an act of worship or for a specific intention.

Where will the Qurbani be performed?

What is Tarteeb in Qurbani (Hady) for Hajj pilgrims?
Tarteeb refers to the correct order and sequence of performing the rituals during Hajj on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah. On this day, the correct sequence of rituals as per the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ is as follows:
- Rami (pelting) of Jamarah al-Aqaba (the big pillar).
- Hady (qurbani – sacrificing an animal) – this is only wajib (obligatory) for pilgrims performing Hajj al-Tamattu and Hajj al-Qiran. For those performing Hajj al-Ifrad, Hady is recommended.
- Halq/Taqsir (cutting the hair).
- Tawaf al-Ziyarah and Sa’i.
For followers of the Hanafi school of thought, following the sequence of rites incorrectly will result in a penalty (damm). For the other three schools of thought, namely the Maliki, Shafi’i and Hanbali schools, although following the correct sequence is recommended, failure to do so will not result in penalty.
